Metal additive manufacturing (3D printing) Chongqing Key Laboratory has long been committed to the research in the field of metal 3D printing, focusing on the scientific frontier of metal additive manufacturing represented by selective laser melting technology (SLM technology), focusing on mechanism, material, Basic and applied research has been carried out in five areas of technology, equipment, and innovative application, and a series of important scientific research results have been produced. Recently, the 863 project "3D printing key technology and equipment development" undertaken by the director of the laboratory, Professor Zhang Zhengwen, was accepted by the Ministry of Science and Technology in Beijing and was highly affirmed by the acceptance experts.

The project has overcome many key technologies of 3D printing technology in the forming process, equipment, software and post-processing methods, and effectively solved the small forming size, low production efficiency, low manufacturing accuracy, and poor stability of my countrys key 3D printing technologies and equipment. Core common problems such as inadequate integration with traditional crafts and lack of a common software platform. Developed four different types of large metal and non-metal 3D printing equipment and an open 3D printing data processing software platform. The related results have been in the integrated manufacturing of large and complex structural parts in the fields of aerospace, automobiles, ships, molds, etc. Get a demonstration application. Take the key equipment-selective laser melting forming metal 3D printing equipment as an example. At present, the forming format of foreign commercial large-scale equipment is mostly about 600mm×600mm. In this project, the large-scale selection developed by the team of Professor Zhang Zhengwen, the director of the laboratory The forming width of the laser melting forming equipment has reached 2000mm×2000mm, filling the gap of large-scale selective laser melting forming equipment at home and abroad, and marking that my country has reached the world advanced level in the development of selective laser melting forming technology, technology and equipment. . During the progress of the project, the research team successively published 33 high-level papers, applied for 12 national invention patents and 2 international patents.

On the basis of the above research, the laboratory will continue to meet the needs of aerospace, automotive, mold manufacturing and other fields, continue to break through the basic theories and application technology bottlenecks of SLM technology, in-depth study of the forming mechanism and technology of large-scale high-efficiency and high-precision SLM technology, and upgrade the series Equipment performance, innovative product optimization design methods oriented to SLM technology, and promote the wide application of this technology in aerospace, automotive, mold and other fields.
