Approved by Chongqing Science and Technology Commission in 2015, Chongqing Key laboratory of Metal Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) has a multi-disciplinary talent team composed of 23 experts, scholars and professors at home and abroad, with national experts as academic leaders. The professional field involves heat flow mechanics, material science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and other disciplines. Guided by the future development direction of 3D printing, the application of light-weight or high-strength metals and intelligent parts, the laboratory focuses on structural optimization design, material treatment and preparation, light-weight product design, equipment innovation, engineering application innovation and other directions. Based on those technologies, the large-scale high-efficiency selective laser melting forming equipment with the largest forming size in the world at that time bas been developed by the laboratory, which has been applied in the manufacturing of large metal parts in the fields of aerospace, mold and so on.
